The UD Discovery Initiative is an innovative outreach effort to engage alumni in active dialogue with student ambassadors. Today’s most talented student leaders are meeting in person and by phone with hundreds of selected alumni throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and other key regions.

The UD Discovery initiative has three primary goals:

1. Create stronger ties with UD alumni and find out how the University can be relevant to their lives now
2. Tap into the resources and expertise that our alumni community has to offer students and the University
3. Create networking and learning opportunities for current UD students

If you are selected to participate in this exciting initiative, you will receive a letter or email from the alumni office explaining the initiative and giving you the contact information for the student ambassador that will be contacting you. Then, a student ambassador will contact you directly by phone or email to schedule a meeting that will last for no more than an hour. These UD Ambassadors engage in one on one “interviews” with UD alumni in regions of the country where there are high concentrations of alumni. Interviews can take place in a coffee bar, at the alumnus/a’s place of work or another common location.

The interview will focus on your life since graduation, your memories of UD and what would motivate you to reconnect with your alma mater. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask your student ambassador about student life and the latest news from the university. The information collected as part of the interview will help strengthen the programs and services offered to alumni.
