The 50th anniversary of UD’s tradition of groundhog is approaching quickly. Depending on your class year, groundhog took form in many ways with many traditions. Older classes celebrated underground groundhog while younger alumni participated in the full-fledged UD supported event complete with Super Dave’s watchful gaze.

Our tradition has sparked our very imaginations and even pride in the fact that we host the second largest celebration of groundhog outside of Punxsutawney. Creative “Groundhogiads” were written, clever quotes were uncovered, and several variations of the groundhog costume have bolstered our enthusiasm for this unique UD hiatus.

We are excited for you to join us this year as we celebrate the momentous occasion of our 50th Groundhog Anniversary.
